Would you buy a +$40,000 VW
People’s car? A Phaeton , Toureg, Passat V8? What’s Audi for? I ask IF they can’t get the rattles and electrical bugs out of cars they have been making for years how is VW going to make an Infinit/Lexus/BMW/DC beater.

Would you buy a $40,000 VW – how? because they push more torque, horsepower, and top end then all of those cars you just listed. watch lemans..or even pro modifieds…audi cleans them all up.

Would you buy a $40,000 VW – p.s. in case you didn’t know, VAG also owns Lambourghini, Porsche, Bugatti, Bentley. I think they may know a thing or two about 40,000+ cars.

Would you buy a $40,000 VW – They should start a new company using an old respected name like Horch. This direct connection with Volksyugo is infusing some of the typical bad qualities of Volksyugo products. Audi’s separation from Volksyugo is actually helping them a lot, even though they have some similar problems because of componenet cross-over. At least they seem to take care of their customers better. I know, cause my brother switched over from Volksyugo to Audi with the purchase of his A4 Quattro Turbo, and he is a lot happier with it and how Audi has dealt with any problems with his car. The Pheaton and Toureg are vehicle concepts that deserve better execution instead of being designed and built by the Dunderheads from Wolfsburg.

Would you buy a $40,000 VW – i agree with paul about the phaeton, but not the touareg. a chevy tahoe is as much as a touareg. a nissan armada is too. chrysler pacifica too. vw is transforming themselves into a luxury brand. remember, touareg was 04 motor trend suv of the year, as well as a few others. for what you get for the money, its a hell of a deal more features than a lexus rx330, less money. as far a phaeton, the vw babge hurts it, ill admit that. automobile mag ranks it 3rd behind audi and lexus but ahead of bmw, mercedes, and jaguar. it should be phaeton by vw. a fancy p on the hood and steeringwheel, maybe only a vw symbol by the glovebox, just my opinion. originally we were supposed to have a seperate phaeton showroom, and even built it, but so far its not being enforced by brand standards. its a great car, still $25000 less than bmw.

Would you buy a $40,000 VW – That’s not the point. A Phaeton and a Touareg simply should not be part of the VW line. They don’t belong in Audi either, since Audi is luxury-sports. They really should have just started a new brand.

Would you buy a $40,000 VW – touareg starts at $36500. exactly how much do you think it should cost? cost is not everything. does a honda s2000 meet hondas linuep? does corvette meet chevys? why not make it a caddilac corvette. come on guys.

Would you buy a $40,000 VW – When the brand is “The People’s Car”, cost is very important.

Would you buy a $40,000 VW – A Touareg doesn’t fit VW’s lineup simply because it costs $40,000+.

Would you buy a $40,000 VW – The Chevy Vega was once Motor Trend’s Car of the Year. The Tourareg’s hardly a good example of quality manufacturing.

Would you buy a $40,000 VW – this is not 1977 paul. we will argue on this to the end, so its pointless. but i really think you need to realize, and im sure you do, that you can barely get a car under $15k anymore. leave the crap to hyundai and kia. oh, and jokes on those who bought that $29000 kia amanti, lol, talk about overpriced. best thing they did is not put a kia symbol on the jaguar-like front grille. we shoulda done that with the phaeton. should we rather make a crappy truck like a vue or an escape or crv and charge $27k or make it truly worth its 36k price tag. i vote b. ok the v10 tdi is a bit high, but hell, another 10 cyl. truck the viper srt10 ram1500 is 50k. we got more torque….ok thats pointess i just am a bit bored now. bottom line is i strongly disagree.

Would you buy a $40,000 VW – passatvr6, vw doen NOT own porsche, btw. its a common mistake, though seeing as the shared tech on the touareg/chyenne, and some others, including the concept r, which is alot like a boxter/audi tt and a bit r32. the r32, btw, will be getting a turbo charger in the future, which should jump the hp to around 310, torque maybe 290-300, so stay tuned. the lamborghini, buggati is true. bentley is also, actually the cont gt is on phaetons frame, not the audi a8l as many think. even has the w12 engine. buggatis is a w16, 1001 hp europe, about 989 by us specs. cool stuff.
vw also owns seat and skoda, which are not sold here. the vw sharan minivan is a skoda, actually. just saying.
