AHHHH!
I’m so glad I found this site! My husband and I purchased a 2001 Jetta Wolfsburg Edition 2 1/2 years ago and have had nothing but problems with it. I’ve tried dealing with VW headquarters and the dealer in our area with NO luck (they are all such helpful people!) I’ve resorted to making up fliers with information on how to complain to various organizations and putting them on all VW’s I see.
We are trying to now sell the stupid thing (this leads to a moral and ethical deliema – here nice person, I won’t tell you the car sucks and has had numerous problems, enjoy the car!) Not only can we not keep it fixed long enough to sell it, but somehow we are upside down! We put down $5000 dollars on the car and have been making payments, but there is no way we are going to sell the car for what we still owe.
If you have any ideas or suggestions, PLEASE HELP!

AHHHH! – Wow, wish we COULD help. If we could, we wouldn’t be ranting on this website – we’d be solving problems!
All I can suggest is, post the resources that you wrote up (“information on how to complain to various organizations “) here so more poeple can see it. And… GOOD LUCK with your moral dilemma!

AHHHH! – I’m in a similar predicament too. I’d like to sell the car (03 TDI sedan owe more than it’s worth.
Have you looked in to lemon laws in your area? Here in a site that I have found useful.

I’m just waiting for more problems so I can return it under a the lemon law. So far I have one serious safety defect and one nonconformity. Along with a lot of loose parts.
Good luck!

AHHHH! – My mother had an issue with her 98′ Jetta TDI some yrs ago. One month after her warranty ran out the power steering pump went. Long story short it was caused by VWs bad engineering. The battery leaked acid onto the power steering pump and the acid ate compents in the car. She had a rough time dealing with the dealership and VW, but finally just dropped the car off at the dealer..said here is the car when I get it back it better be fixed and I’m not giving you any money…walked out the door and got a call 2 days later that she could pick it up. Car was fixed and never had the problem again, but word to the wise..you’ll notice that the battery is set-off all by its self now in newer VWs

AHHHH! – If you have time, could you post up all the problems you’ve had and how the dealership dealt with the problem?
And if you feel inclined, whether or not you did enjoy the car before the problems began.
