ADMIN NOTE
Hi
It’s clear that there are many people with similar complaints about Volkswagen products and service. This site was launched just weeks ago and the usership continues to increase.
Some of us are frustrated and want to know how to solve not only our personal car problem, but also what some of us see as a systemic practice of isolating and repressing these issues. Well, there are no answers to be found here… yet.
The solution, we believe, must emanate from a collective voice, one that proves its validity through numbers and sincerity. THAT is the true point of this site, and that is the potential power that this site, and sites like it, possess.
A lot of the “next step” responsibility lies with us, the developers of VW Sucks. We need to, and will, improve the content, the posting board, give you profile access, develop mail features, and provide you with the legal stuff (did we tell you that we will never give away or sell your email address? We should have.) Now that this site has passed the first hurdle towards justifyng its existence, we are anxious to move towards the next.
While we develop the boring, geeky, website stuff, you can help us by giving us links to useful sites, providing us with feedback about how to improve this place, and by spreading the word that we’re here. Once we reach the next threshold, with the improved features at VW Sucks, we can start to talk about collective action. We’re not there yet.
Data about defects. Technical service bulletins and advisories. Complaint statistics (especially in comparison to other makes). These are the tools we can really leverage to prove a valid point.
Thanks.
Rick, and the rest of the team.
