Passats Too?
I agree with almost all the postings here about the Jetta/Golf/Beetle trio. They are so bizarrely unsafe and unreliable! BUT I just got rid of a new Honda with almost as many problems…..My question: Would most of these complaints apply to the Passat also? As for VW of America….ALL the car companies suck if a problem arises. Be advised: In no way am I defending VW of America!!!! Thanks

Passats Too? – Thanks for your post. I agree that, if someone is unsatisfied, then the company that did them wrong would blame them.
As for your Passat question, I can only speak for my Jetta which, if it isn’t apparent, sucks.
It seems that there have been some seriously “bad batches” of VW’s, and others couldn’t be happier with theirs. I got a bad one, as did many people here. And, when VW refuses to care, we get mad.
BTW, there’s lots of Audi complaint sites also!

Passats Too? – Ok, I have owned 6 audis and about 12 Vws now .. the vws were always used beaters, None gave me problems and All save for the bugs I had went way into the 100k and a 91 passat wagon i have is up to 225k and still plucking along .. I do agree with the shear abuse from the dealers, all treat me like my first car and like i don’t know shit about the cars, yet i have to tell them what is wrong and what the part numbers are, I now have 2 bmws and can’t belive the super service i get wow, I had a 2000 TT that fell apart before 7k, I have a feeling everything after 2000 is trash

Passats Too? – I have had my passat for over a year and have only had the headlights go out(5 bucks each). No mechanical work. I love it and would buy another one. My wife was going to buy a jetta, but I don’t think I will because of what I have seen in my research.
