Rename – I’ve written automotive service for over 5 years and VW by far has made me more money than any other manufacturer out there. Good for me, bad for a VW customer. I just can’t believe with all the complaints on this site I’m really not seeing anything about check engine lights (vacuum lines, MAF sensors, O2 sensors, 2ndary air system components, ECT sensors — I probably see one of each per day. I would have thought more people complained about that “damn check engine light” as I here it so elequently called every day. I thought more VW owners would have got a kick out of that “inside” joke
Rename – you mean you only saw an average of one per day?? i’d say my average was at LEAST 5 or 6… yeah vw’s surely have made me a whole lotta cash! i know a few vw employees who are millionaires!
VW = visit weekly lol!
Rename – One of the reasons so many sensors do go off in a VW is that it is a heavily computer-controlled vehicle, moreso than Toyota or Honda (excepting the Prius, which awes me in its electronics).
I’d expect such problems to increase for all cars as we continue to put more systems under computer control.
Rename – It is rumored of putting some cheap parts to keep expenses down, on an already expensive car…Its costing them more then they can calculate.
VW really hurt themselves…I know…I sell them…not much longer the way things are going.

Rename – I dumped my 2000 GTI last year. If I saw that Emissions Workshop! message one more time….it went off at least 6 times in a year.
