AN “”OFFICIAL”" VW RESPONSE?

This is sad. Someone using the name retuas posted a nice flame today, which I deleted from the thread (it didn’t belong there otherwise I would have left it intact, minus the pottymouth parts):

Amusing, and far from an intelligent critique. The really sad part is that it comes from Volkswagen.

Is this where we’re at now? Expletives and personal attacks? Is this how Volkswagen of America chooses to treat free expression? Very nice, retuas, you represent everything about your company that convinced me to invest in this site.

Volkswagen of America has accessed this site 48 times, as of this writing, from their corporate offices. This is the first time I’ve been personally attacked by them.

Thanks for proving what we already knew. VW Sucks.

    AN – I wouldn’t say it’s official.

It’s probably a piss-ant salesman bored and surfing the web during his coffee break. I especially like the mispelling of you’re.

You should have left it in the thread and contacted Rod East Volkswagen Inc. Hell, contact them anyway.

By the way, Rod East is ranked pretty low among rated dealerships at 1.8t.org, so perhaps the entire dealership is comprised of tools anyway, and we’re better off just ignoring them.

AN – Actually, better yet, just contact VWOA and let them know that someone is personally attacking a VW customer (even if you are a disgruntled one, you remain a customer) through internet access at a VW dealership. I wonder what that would bring about….

Maybe nothing. But you never know, someone might get fired. ;)

AN – Thanks for the advice – I’m really not looking to get anyone fired over it because I’m pretty used to personal attacks! I find it funny, though.

At least other people engage in the discussion without sinking to that level.

AN – The point of this site, as I see it, is a place where people can post their grievances regarding a particular company’s product. Others can offer solutions that either require that company’s participation, or one that can be done yourself without undue cost.

It is also a place to discover common problems that can then be directed to the attention of that company, resulting in company action. Specific instances of this have already occurred, with a 7-year retroactive warranty for window regulators and 1.8T coilpacks. It also promotes the advertisement of class-action suits that may involve you, allowing you to allow partipation (implicit) or filing a non-participation so you can, in the future, file your own suit.

The ultimate goal, as far as I am concerned, is for Volkswagen to respond by improving their products.

    AN – Rick,
That’s almost funny. I simply don’t understand how complaining about VW’s inferior quality makes us whiners. Freedom of speech is the most valuable tool in this country and must be used when ever and where ever necessary to correct an injustice. I think being sold crappy products is an injustice, especially when even Hyundai makes a viable product. Believe me, if I had done my research prior to buying my 1.8T, I would’ve bought a BMW. I find that post very insulting, but none the less it’s representative of the quality of people working at some of the VW dealerships. Talk about whiners. LOL

AN – Complaining about having to put 5 grand into a car in the first 3 years is ‘whining’?

Complaining about turning my car in early, making the final 5 payments in advance and then having VW Credit put a Repossession on my credit report is ‘whining’?

Perhaps you’d rather I just bent over, grabbed my ankles, and took the abuse from VW?

Uh, this is America, loser. If you want a captive audience that has to take your crappy product and service, go open business in North Korea or Cuba.
