Also, if you can ask the dealership for the DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) that caused the check engine light. Just ask for the DTCs; there may be just the one, or a bunch of them, and they are each 5 digits long. They should provide this to you. If they ask, tell them you are doing independent research. I haven't got the DTS yet, but the problem had to do with the engine light diagnosed found that the ignition coil was malfunctioning in re to air pump, so they replaced the coil.
