VW Transmissions, et al - Mr. Takeda. Thanks for helping me out. I did do as you suggested in regards to the transmission. It does run better. I still detect rough shifting sometimes especially when going for the first drive of the day. If I do this more often, will this go away altogether???

My engine is a 2.0 engine. The stalling is weird - hopefully you will have some suggestions on that.

The ticking is only noticed at idle. It is a knocking that has a certain faulty valve sound??

I appreciate all your help. Your continued assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

VW Transmissions, et al - The ticking noise... does it speed up when you accelerate or is it constant no matter how fast the engine is going?

I forgot to ask: what engine is this? A 2.0L or 1.8T? There are certain parts to check concerning engine stall depending on which engine.

If the windows don't fall in 7 years, then they'll pretty much never fall due to a defective clip.

As for your transmision, try resetting the shift program. DO the following:

Turn key to power car but do not start engine.

Press the accelerator all the way to the floor and hold it there for three seconds.

Release the accelerator.

Turn the ignition off.

Wait 2 minutes.

Start the engine.

Go for a drive. It might jolt when you first shift to D, but after that the program should start relearning.

VW Transmissions, et al - If the windows don't fall, why do they need to be replaced?

Ticking noise when you're doing what? Idle? Acceleration? When?

Putting it into park? First? second? I'm confused. There's no park in a manual transmission. Or is it auto?

VW Transmissions, et al - My appologies. The ticking sound is when the car is on, engine running. It is an internal noise, not a belt.

The worry with the window is that when the warranty expires, if window breaks...money out of my pocket. Should be covered now to avoid those issues.

The transmission is an automatic. The symptoms are difficult to diagnose. They are never ""triggerable"". abrupt shifting when it wants to, smooth when it wants to. I think I will talk to the dealer tomorrow but have nothing to go on. They looked at me like I was crazy when I suggested a computer reprogramming to correc the problem. I know I am not crazy. All I want is a reliable car. And did I mention the shaking and stalling of the engine??
Please help me. Thanks
