99 Jetta O2 Sensor reset

OK I hate my Jetta. I have hated it since the first “”mass air flow”" failure 4 years ago. Since then i have gone through 3 mass air flow thingies and 2 replacements of the o2 sensor before the cat converter and one replacement after.

Recently I lost the 02 sensor again ($100 a pop mind you) and needed to replace it. The garage that did the job was also supposed to get me a sticker. The mechanic says that I need to drive the Jetta week before redoing the inspection test. Does this make sense?

99 Jetta O2 Sensor reset – Not really, unless the ECU’s learned values were reset. Even then, it only takes 20 minutes of steady driving on the freeway.
