Check Engne Light
I bought my 2004 Jetta TDI and exactly one week later the check eng. light comes on. I had RS Assist. tow it to nearest dealership. Faulty glow plus were he diagnosis. One week after that the light is on again. the vacuum hose is off. This past Sunday the light is at it again.. What the heck is the deal? the service Mgr I am dealing with is abrupt and becomes downright ugly when I mentioned a loaner car. I am a SUBSTANTIAL distance from any dealership and this every other week thing is crap – anyone have this kind of problem?

Check Engne Light – Finding a better dealership would be your first priority. Hopefully, there’s one near enough with a good rating: http://1.8t.org/dealers/

Check Engne Light – I had my check engine light go on twice in 1 month. The first time was a bad temp sensor in the transmission fluid…the second time was much more simple. There was a crack in an o ring on the gas cap (or something to that effect) that was causing fumes to leak out, which in turn set off the CEL. Other than that,I would also recommend trying to find another dealer (even if it is out of the way). A good dealer makes all the difference.
