MyCarStats.com

I went on MyCarStats.com to check on complaints associated with my two new VW’s (03 NB,04 Golf) and was suprised to see that there were very few complaints associated with them. 17 total for the NB and 4 for the Golf, all minor. This is in stark contrast to the #1 and #5 vehicles on the site, the Toyota Sienna (111 complaints) and Toyota Camery (82 complaints). Maybe these folks should start their own site TOYOTASUCKS.com

MyCarStats.com – heh heh.. yeah I was lucky that this domain was available, kinda. I won’t “”out”" the guy who let me use it unless he lets me, but I don’t own it. Let’s just say the owner of this domain is a believer in the cause (unlike toyotasucks.com).

By the way, if that guy is just looking for a quick buck, he could quickly lose in court should Toyota make the effort.

MyCarStats.com – If they did, they’d need to buy the domain from the squatter.

MyCarStats.com – It sounds like maybe instead of those people starting their Companysucks site, maybe we should be reviewing the basis of our own vwsucks sight. I’m going to take your word for it that you have had some pretty serious problems with your vws, but if vw is cleaning up its act, maybe this site has really had a good effect on vw. Just a thought…

MyCarStats.com – you guys have to understand how statistics work. compare how many camrys are sold compared to golfs. you have to take the ratios into consideration

MyCarStats.com – Here is a link showing VW’s ranking in the 2004 J D Power Survey. It is well deserved.

I don’t care how you “”spin”" this one. Second from worst is really poor!

MyCarStats.com – It would appear that VW has yet to begin addressing it’ s quality control issues.

While it is true that all makes and models experience problems, VW seems to have more serious and significant problems.

In my case it is not so much that I have problems. I reframed it and attributed the problems to German car ownership. When something serious occurs and the service department and VW of America minimize and dismiss problems, it leaves the consumer feeling rather uneasy.

I have a general knowledge of automobiles (enough that I turn wrenches for fun) and when the dealership and VW of America talked down to me, it took all the strength I could muster to restrain myself.

Failure to acknowledge defects and address them in a timely fashion is inexcusable. To systematically and deliberately mislead consumers (they all do that) is reprehensible.

I hope it catches up with VW soon. I know they have lost my trust and as such not only will I never purchase one, but I assure you that I will ensure that anyone I know knows how VW responds to its customers.

Being an automotive enthusiast I have already begun to inflict as much damage as possible. I have used every automotive connection I have ever established to get the word out.

Read my post about the VW Experience and lets see anyone tell me how VW has made egregious errors.
