Why VW Sucks. – so they say they fixed the problems with the cars only to turn customers away with styling. ahhhh not all can keep uping the anty for the whole package like suzuki motocycles.
my new baby comeing in march 2005 to my driveway. nothing beats getting from point A to point B in style with a smile and a heart rate high enough to give most retierd people a heart attack
Why VW Sucks. – hahaha ya your right. i have just been thinking way out there. i don’t think my brain liked mating with my vw’s windshield to much. HAHAHA good one.
Why VW Sucks. – If it’s possible, the new Jetta / Bora’s even more pedestrian (no pun, really) than the new Golf. Jeez, if I’m gonna drive something that looks Pacific Rim I might as well buy a Honda and enjoy a dull but (relatively) carefree car ownership experience for a change. Is it just me or does the new Jetta make the Outback wagon seem kinda…sexy?
Why VW Sucks. – European styling appears to be going south for all the brands. I have yet to meet a Bangle fan (the man behind the new BMW look), and VW’s MkV platform looks so dull (the Jetta more than the Golf, though I’ve seen body kits that make the Golf look nice — but that’s extra), I fear rumors of a new New Beetle body style.
“”This all-new Jetta once again documents Volkswagen? attention to detail, unique driving dynamics, high-energy looks and quality materials to match and exceed the expectations of the North American customer.”"
I don’t think it will be to hard to exceed my expectations of there quality and attention to detail.
Why VW Sucks. – i do have to admit that some of the guys in vortex have good advice on how to fix the problems with our cars. don’t think to many in this site would like to hear that they are not free dealership fixes though. but i have done all that related to my car and they seem to have worked. i would rather spend some of my hard earned cash and get some use out of my $23,000 after taxes purchase. i think i am going to fix my airbag and seat belt problem by installing a three point racing harness that i can still use the stock seat with. that way i am bolted to my seat. no need for the airbags then. and the seat belt is set and does not need to lock.
Why VW Sucks. – when my temp sensor went my car did not over heat. my car would just go into limp mode every now and then when it would give a bad signal. the thermostat still worked just fine. also people here should know if your codes do not get clear after a warning light that light will go off after 7 turns of the key(as long as the problem is fixed) and come back on after 7 turns of the key.
Why VW Sucks. – Virtually most of my knowledge was gleaned from Vortex and similar sites.
It’s how I replaced my coolant temp sensor before it failed, saving me a scratched head and trip to the dealer that would cost more than the $5 part.
I do have a problem with the know-it-all attitude of some of the folks on there, not to mention the incessant one-upsmanship. But if you filter hard enough, there’s a lot of information there.
Why VW Sucks. – it did both. but i keep resetting my throttlebody and it would get rid of the bad idle for a little bit. well resetting the throttle also cleares the memory that builds up. but not the codes. i think it is just an added feature with my chip. don’t know if it is a stock feature. but thank god for that ability cause it saved me money on towing. i could do that and get my car out of limp mode until the malfunction came back. so i would reset, drive, go into limp, pull over and start again till i got home or the dealer. you can try it. just turn your key to the start positin with out starting the car, and listen under the hood for a high pitch whine sound. if there is one then you7 can do it. when the sound goes off wait about 5 mins and then start the car. i do that alot even when my car is running fine. i have found that these cars remember driving habits so i do it before drag racing and if i have driven like a puss for awhile and want to play.
note: sometimes just restarting can get you out of limp but when it won’t is when i reset my throttle.
Why VW Sucks. – and when the temp was just shot my car was having the coil problem so i was getting about 8 miles to the gallon and had back fires. it was pretty funny actually. sounded like a real pos then. 3 cylinders and a bad temp sensor. makes for a very poor running car.
Why VW Sucks. – The normal failure of that temp sensor would cause rough idle and bad gas mileage. Yours sounds like it just plain failed instead of starting to malfunction.

Why VW Sucks. – Just so you know – putting new babies in your driveway is not recommended.

Why VW Sucks. – The Vortex site is near-propaganda, since they are sponsored by VW.
The forum, however, has thankfully been left uncensored and unrestrained.
