Why?

So let me get this strait,…the purpose of this site is to gather people together to whine about another bad car company. I have done a search and found that there is a site like this for pretty much every major car company in buisiness(ford, mitubishi, honda, chevy, Toyota). Yet all these car companies are still in buisiness and there are evidently many more satisfied customers that fustrated ones. My opinion(and I am of coarse expecting it to get shot down) is that we shouldn’t be spending so much time griping about our problems. It seems that they aren’t getting us anywhere. Yes I understand that the majority of you have had some pretty serious, or just annoying problems with your VWs and I have had my share, but are we doing any good? No, I think that it would be better for all you dissatisfied/fustrated people to sell or fix your car and get rid of it for some other terrible car made by a different company. Better yet try public transportation because I don’t think you really can be satisfied.
Is conclusion I would have to say despite the fact that what VW or some VW dealership has done terrible things to you, maybe you should be working on getting over it rather that dwelling on the fact. You do realize that you are complaining to people who are already convinced that VW sucks?

Well in any case, that’s my opinion.

Why? – Just to break my own rule about personal insults:

    • …because I don’t think you really can be satisfied

You’re an idiot. I could go on (and on and on) but it’s pointless.

Why? – The site has its uses as a means of catharsis.

It also allows others to help out if the problem is solvable by repair, dispute with dealer, and/or receiving compensation).

A lot of this information can be found in VW-enthusiast sites, but such sites tend towards a certain demographic that, to be honest, can be openly hostile towards frustrated consumers. Hence, this site serves a purpose.

Why? – i have to agree that no CAR manufacturer can satisfy me. but here is what can. 2002 gsxr 750, rear ended, put through wooden 2×6 fence and barbed wire fence, plus slid down pavement numeros times. engine never failed, period!! only ever needed fairing replacement.was the best transportation i ever owned till she got stolen. always got me from point a to b in style with a smile. my next baby is going to come in march a 2005 gsxr 1000, 160 – 165 rear wheel horse power on a 365 pound frame, with a 13,500 rpm redline. thats right a 13,500 rpm redline. sweet music to my ears. all four wheeled vehicals are pos’s.i would give pics but i don’t know if there is a way.

This is another straight answer. So now you have one plus one. (2)

    Reference the Jetta MKIV

Thank you for all your kind words. I am getting over it, but I am going to go down fighting and whining if that is all right with you.

There is a big difference between having a fluke vehicle or having tens of thousands of fluke vehicles. Repairs on my Jetta have exceeded $12,000 in 48 months.

I am in the process of writing to the NHTSA, Federal EPA, and State Attorneys General. Because of the scope (multiple states) of this issue, I will also write the US Attorney General. The main topics will include fraud, safety, and environmental concerns. Those folks are very good readers. They should be able to pick out some common threads and our hard earned tax dollars will pay for the investigation!

Topics will include rear brakes, rear rotors, oil burning, coil packs, oxygen sensors, glove box hinges, front seats that burn, MAF sensors, dash harnesses, sunroof problems, coolant migration, check engine lights, temperature gauge sensors, brake lights, blown clutches, window regulators, air conditioning leaks, and more. (this is just the tip of the iceberg!)

How many dealerships have charged for these kinds of inherent defects? How many customers have never been compensated? That is borderline fraud.

I will prove to you and others that there will at least be an investigation of this matter. I feel as though the volume of complaints will speak for itself. This is how class action suits and multi-million dollar fines come about.

Just to clarify. This isnt about me winning, it is about VWOA losing.

It took me 14 months to pursue my last legal battle. This will take longer.

I only have limited wisdom, but I think this might be appropriate.

Why? – OK so you WANT me to go on and on…. Ok then…

    >So let me get this strait,…the purpose of this site is to gather people together to whine about another bad car company.

    Why, yes. Yes it is.

    >I have done a search and found that there is a site like this for pretty much every major car company in buisiness(ford, mitubishi, honda, chevy, Toyota).

    ummm… OK…

    >Yet all these car companies are still in buisiness and there are evidently many more satisfied customers that fustrated ones.

I never said we were here in order to take down the corporation. Did you think that’s what we were doing? How would we do that?

    >My opinion(and I am of coarse expecting it to get shot down) is that we shouldn’t be spending so much time griping about our problems. It seems that they aren’t getting us anywhere.

Disregarding spelling and grammer issues, I LIKE spending my time griping and whining. I like it so much I decided to contract with a web hosting company and to spend countless hours developing a website to express my whining and griping.

Wanna buy a VW? Call me.

    >Better yet try public transportation because I don’t think you really can be satisfied.

THAT’S the part that gets me. VW sold me a piece of crap, refused to fix it, treated me like feces, and pretends I don’t exist. I’m still paying for a car I hate and that sucks and VW essentially says “screw you too”. To even suggest that I should be satisfied with that just shows that you aren’t paying attention.

    >Is conclusion I would have to say despite the fact that what VW or some VW dealership has done terrible things to you, maybe you should be working on getting over it rather that dwelling on the fact. You do realize that you are complaining to people who are already convinced that VW sucks?

No, I don’t realize that. Read the posts and especially the replies. There’s lots of VW enthusiasts and potential buyers in here. And, just so you truly get it, this site is a major part of my “getting over it” as it may well be for others.

    >Well in any case, that’s my opinion.

    All opinions are welcome.

And, uh… I shouldn’t have called you an idiot. Sorry. grumble grumble.

Why? – haha yes i am a bit picky about my stolen baby. that is her. before yoshi tri oval exhaust and i had to get new fairings all around, so the front was from an 02 1000 that was after the two fences she went through at about 70 mph. i just loved the fact that she still pured after every mishap i had with her. never gave me any trouble that i did not cause. i wish my vw could be that way. and i do have to say best girlfriend i ever had. all she wanted was to be riden and riden hard. HAHAHA my vw was the worst, finiky little B**ch.i just hope that i can make vwoa pay for there airbag not going off as it was sapose too. i did not know i should have been whearing my helmet in the car two. i whish i was, maybe i would not keep getting these damb headaches after the accident. funy how everyone said i would die on the bike but out of all the mishapes on her i recovered just fine, but this one in the vw screwed me up bad. maybe i will put in a three point racing harness and wear my helmet from now on in the vw, so what if i look like a dork.atleast my head won’t have to take anymore abuse from the windshield.

Why? – as for frankie if you would read my post then you would read about a company that has produced an automotive product that would perform to our insanly high expectations. granted it is a motorcyle but it goes to show that an automotive vehical with fuel injection, a 32 bit ecu, accutally its engine has diagnostics just like the vw’s do. it tracks fireing of the spark plugs blaaaa blaaaa blaaaa. and it was and is rock solid. you go out and find me a web site gripping about suzuki bikes there buddy. plus the engine on the bike is like a vw’s engine completely tweeked out. and if you where to do that to a vw’s engine, well sh*t none can keep the damb things running long enough stock to conseve of doing that. however it would no longer be a daily driver. the technology is out there if vw would take a little more pride in there products.

Why? – I am sorry. I shouldn’t have said you can’t be satisfied. I was completely out of line. I still stand by me opinion that dwelling on this isn’t doing much good.
In any case, the majority of you have given me decent answers. As for the rest of you, you should try to keep an open mind. that is, afterall, supposed to be the goal of this forum.
Oh and speaking of focusing my efforts in the wrong place, I guess I too am guilty of that in even posting this subject. For that I apoligise.

Why? – oh and yes with my setup i regularly beat mustang gt’s audi tt’s. my car is push about 225 hp with about 245 foot pounds of torque. however half of speed is the driver suspention and a good short shifter helps get though those gears in half the time. damb that reminds me of another problem with the manual trany’s, 2nd gear grind. i fixed that by changing my trany fluid to a racing full synthetic. can’t remember the brand off hand though. my setup includes chip, bosh platnium 4 plugs, cat back 2.5″ exhaust,k&n, turboxess bypass valve, neuspeed short shifter, h&r racing springs, koni racing shocks, 4bar fuel pressure reg, stainless steel braided brak lines(stopping is just as important as going),plus EBC brake pads. and my mechanic that built it biulds race cars like superchared NSX’s for gt racing twin turbo zx’s, mustangs you name it he has modified it. and he loves to test drive my car and even says it is very fast. i think it is pretty quick now after having a 02 gsxr 750. now that bike was fast.

Why? – frankie i started a thread to try and help some people it is called known problems and fixes for them. i have to admitt it felt good to bitch moan and whine(venting as i like to say)but i have spent my hard earned money reenginering my car. adding parts that vw forgot to put on there cars. that thread was to try to help others from what i have found out,and if others know something that could help me or someone else out,to get there car back on the road. but i think most like the drama. i hate vw probably more than anyone else. i was just in an accident 2 months ago where my aigbags did not go off nor did my seatbelt lock cause me to bite my tounge off because my head almost went through the windshield. i was on a liquid diet for a month and could not talk well. plus i keep getting really bad headachs. i think they must like the drama. the custom parts that i listed in the thread cost me about $500 each because i paid the r&d on them. the brakeline mounts(to mount them to the strut)are not really needed but i did not like the lines flapping in the breeze. however the the bracket to stop the coil packs from popping of the spark plug is. i offered them to help. the price has not been worked out for selling yet but it would probably be around $60 and even the dumbest people around cars could install it them selves. it stop all staring problems as well as misfireing problems. plus the mysterious engine stalls at idle. made my car run more reliable. i have had no problems with the way my car runs for awhile. only problems lately are the seatbelt and airbags. This is probably going to be my last reply on this site.

Why? – For anyone that wants to at least feel the power capable in their engines, those with 1.8Ts can have the ECU program modified to boost it to 200+hp. The 2.0L gains a modest 15hp, but the torque really churns up. The VR6 is a bit harder to work with, but if you have a VR6, you probably have had the least problems of the batch. :D

This is for anyone who’s already given up on VW service or is willing to risk the voiding of warranty.

The cost? As cheap as $100 for a 2.0L or $350 for a 1.8T, though some spend on branding up to $500.

Either way, it does make you like the car a *little* bit more enjoyable.

    ;)

  21. 297 Said,

    November 21, 2004 @ 12:39 pm

Why? – Oh, and for ronster: chipping tends to get ride of that pesky delay you experience when steppingon the accelerator. It gets replaced by a rather significant surge with you going, “”Whoa!”"

Note: depending on the chip company, the behavior differs, but for all them it’s best to relearn the driving characteristics of the new fuel map.

  22. gerald palmer Said,

    November 21, 2004 @ 12:48 pm

Why? – upsolute is a good chip. it is what i have had for 60,000 miles. it is a good daily driving one. after i got my tecttonhics exhaust the power band it at about 3,000. a little slugish under that but really peppy at or above. and yes there is no more delay. i would recomend getting a new dv valve as the stock one sucks and you will get surging in the high rpm. it is also accepted by alot of the dealers because it dose not change the stock revlimit. plus they take out the stock chip and reprogam that, rather than put in a new chip which can be recognized by looking at it. the only way to tell the chip is there is by hitting the gas hard.

  23. 297 Said,

  24. gerald palmer Said,

Why? – ya the new one will take a little more power. have not hadthe chance to race an 05 yet.

  25. gerald palmer Said,

    November 22, 2004 @ 3:08 am

Why? – the platinum 4’s work good. did not see a fireing difference. just that after chipping i fried the stock ones in about 10,000 miles. have had the 4’s for 50,000 miles and are still looking like new.

  26. 297 Said,

    November 22, 2004 @ 4:22 am

Why? – I’m thinking of copper plugs… they wear out faster but they run remove heat better than platinum, and heat’s a terrible problem for my car with its high boost and slightly bigger turbo.

  27. gerald palmer Said,

    November 22, 2004 @ 5:38 am

Why? – ya the copper are better fireing plugs. i just tryed the pltinums and figured i would use them till they wear out which is proving a long time. i want to try NGK plugs. i had them in my bike and talk about making that thing fire a hell of alot better. felt like it was snappier. don’t know if they gave her any more hp but on one of those things you really need a dyno or take it to its top speed which i never did. i had it to 181 mph with the stock plugs and took it to about that with the ngk’s felt like it had more to give but i didn’t have the balls to go there, was running out of straight away too.

  28. gerald palmer Said,

    November 22, 2004 @ 5:41 am

Why? – if you have any misfires after changing plugs check to see if the coil packs are popping off the plugs. my new coils did that. if they do i can get picks for you of that mount to hold them down. or my friend could make you one for probably $60 bucks or so. it is easy to install. there are predrilled holes from the factory that it uses. what turbo do you have? i was thinking about a t3/t4 before i got my bike. but after looking at it i figured i would need alot more like a bigger intercooler(cause i live in florida and heat soak sucks) plus a better clutch and slip dif.

  29. 297 Said,

    November 22, 2004 @ 6:19 am

Why? – Yep. NGK BKR7E. Recommended for chipped 1.8Ts. They’re one step colder, and come pre-gapped at 0.032″, which you need to set to 0.031″ at most, but 0.028″ is more common if you run high boost.

And $2/pop, too. Cheap… just replace every time you do an oil change and you’re golden.

  30. gerald palmer Said,

    November 22, 2004 @ 8:53 am

  32. 297 Said,

Why? – By the way, Gerald: drivers being equal, you’ll be lucky beating the new Mustang GT and it’s 4.6L V8. ;)
