This is why we dont get cool things in the US

A class action lawsuit has been certified claiming that the front-end spoilers on 1999-2002 Jettas have a faulty design which causes them to catch on parking lot curb stops which can yank the spoiler off the bumper. Curb stops range in height from 5 to 6 inches, while the clearance on the spoilers is only 4 to 6 inches. Volkswagen initially paid for the damaged spoilers, but when numbers skyrocketed, they claimed it wasn’t covered under warranty.

This is why we dont get cool things in the US – I can not believe this. This entire issue could be resolved by training the sales staff to tell all customers about it.

I kept scraping it on the curb only when I would leave a parking space. It took me a few months to realize that the nose of the car dive enough when I put it in reverse that it was scraping when I backed up.

I just modified my behavior and started to backing into parking places with a curb. I have not had the problem since.

I also never thought that it should be covered by Warranty, it was my error after the first time it occurred.

I wonder how low the front of Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, etc. are?

This is why we dont get cool things in the US – The bottom spoiler is also really easy to reattach when it gets partly out of place, therefore this suit seems more ridiculous as I think about it.

This is why we dont get cool things in the US – I just love that gem embedded in there…that owning a VW requires behavioral modification in order to live with the purchase.

I’m stitching that and hanging it on my wall.
