you have to wonder

after reading a lot of posts on this site, you begin to wonder actually how much of what you people are saying is true or not. I am sure some of you have complaints that are legit. but some you seem just to complain for the hell of it

you have to wonder – Those are probably the people who have been so badly bent over and burned by VW that they have no recourse but to angrily denounce the company.

But saying that it’s “”for the hell of it”" is to underestimate the negative experience they’ve had.

I’m one of ‘em, by the way.

you have to wonder – As i said in another post, I feel a certain moral obligation to let people know the truth about VW.

After having two VW lemons in a row and being jerked around by dealers and insulted by VWoA, I feel outraged at VW. I can understand why I and tens of thousands of other people want to vent at VW.

What I don’t understand is the motive behind the people who come to sites like this and make excuses for the garbage that VW puts out, the poor service that dealers provide, and the insulting behavior of VWoA.( Actually, I do understand it.)

There are people that appear to spend 40 hours a week on these forums And, they have every VW statistic and answer readily available. They must spend another 80 hours a week doing research. It’s almost as if they have the entire VW research and PR staff available. Very odd.

you have to wonder – Gee, does this make you wonder?

Bought a 2003 Jetta 2.0 Wagon with 10K on the clock. Lord knows what else was wrong when I bought it…

    Faulty Engine Coils
    Failed Air Conditioning (Twice)
Faulty Rear Window Defroster (Dealer will not fix)
Clutch Slave Cylinder Hangs (Dealer will not fix)
    Static in Monsoon Radio
    Fan Belt squeaks at 30K
Hidden fuses that blow for no reason
Keyless entry quits working (not battery related)
Rear Right Window flexes and moves in the door (Dealer will not fix; states that only the front doors were affected by the clip problem)
Grinds gears with clutch fully depressed
Multiple Dash rattles (Dealer will not fix)
Burns 1.5 quarts of oil between every oil change
Check engine light comes on for no reason; dealer cannot reproduce nor fix
Engine and chassis bolts came loose at 28K; took two visits for dealer to hear the very loud horrible knocking noise
    Right headlight can off
    Failed Power Steering Pump

All of this has happened in less than 20K over 11 months.

you have to wonder – The second I came to this site, I was amazed at the number of people who have had, and who are having, the same problems I am. If I didn’t have so much in common, I wouldn’t believe it myself.

I didn’t expect a 100 percent trouble free car, but I didn’t expect constant problems either. It’s too bad, I really thought this was a great looking, well appointed, safe little car. Now, I’d just like to be rid of it.

you have to wonder – Not all that odd. And I would bring down the time you quote to about 1-2 hour a week, most of it responding to questions and requests for help.

And the reason I do spend 1-2 hours a week on this site is because I do know something about the MkIV generation’s problems, of which I know some of the solutions. Why you find this antagonistic and counter to the philosophy of this board is perplexing.

I do admit that I enjoy posting some “”VW PR”", such as world records and so on primarily to egg some of the regulars on, but hey, we’re all old hats at this point.

you have to wonder – Wait a minute – you imply that paultakeda is a VW mole then accuse him of it AGAIN when he explains why he comes here? Jeesh… you’re hard to please!

We’re supposed to be on the same side, VWVictim, but I don’t like it when people criticize others just for posting here. Paultakeda is on the opposite side of this issue generally but he has been an *excellent* resource for people who need information. In fact, he and Yupoldbull will be admins here as soon as I get around to writing some code.

All opinions are welcome. Heck, it makes for fun reading when there’s a mix!

you have to wonder – The correct quote is: “”The lady doth protest too much, methinks.”" Though I suppose this is right up there with “”Play it again, Sam.”"

“”I like this place and willingly could waste my time in it.”"
