VW Touareg Sets World Altitude Record – Now I understand! The secret to running a VW is to have a maintenance crew with you whenever you drive the vehicle!
VW Touareg Sets World Altitude Record – Why don’t they stop wasting money on useless publicity stunts like this and just fix the problems with their cars!
VW Touareg Sets World Altitude Record – It was a standard Touareg Expedition model equal to its sales floor brethren, fitted with extra spotlights, spare tires, and rescue equipment.
I’d say that’s pretty impressive as a publicity stunt, and far from useless. If VW really wants to sell the Touareg as a tough SUV, then putting it in the record books is a good way of convincing prospective SUV buyers of its merits.
I myself don’t like the direction VW is taking with SUVs, but I can understand why as a company they would want to expand…. I just wanted them to expand towards the small econocars and hatches instead of luxury and SUV classes.
VW Touareg Sets World Altitude Record – That’s the biggest “”maybe”" in all of the automotive world. With problem after problem after problem ocurring on model after model after model, year after year after year, suddenly VW is going to produce a reliable car? That’s a suckers bet.
And look at this. We have a Toureg that reached 6,000 meters. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. Nevermind that we have cars whose windows fall into the door. Nevermind that we have cars whose engines sludge up. Nevermind that we have tens of thousands of customers that want to lynch us.
Phony BS. VW is holding up the shiny bauble and saying “” Ooh, look at this”".
VW’s declining sales show that people are not falling for this BS.

What a misdirected company. Very sad.

VW Touareg Sets World Altitude Record – For God’s sake , why don’t they just build cars that work instead of this phony BS.

VW Touareg Sets World Altitude Record – Maybe they did, VWVictim — we’re waiting on the new MkV, remember?
And it’s hardly phony — publicity of this sort is serious business.

You are being “”way too”" cynical and not considering that a 4Runner might have towed it up there! (without a support crew and flag)
As for getting down, I think it would do ok.
