Extended Warrant on O2 sensor??
Can anyone advise if VW has extended warranty on O2 sensor for 2001 Jetta. Have replaced twice via independent garage. Check engine light on again – diagnosed as bad O2 sensor.

I have been trying to get a straight answer on this topic and have been unable to do so. What is the best weight oil to use in this car? and should I go synthetic? I am currently being told use a 5w 30.
Opps..VW Cabrio. My wife owns a ”01 VW cabrio and her right rear brake light has been giving me a headache with not working. Everytime I go and pull out the light module the darn thing starts to work again and does so for a few days just to turn around and stop working again. Any advice?
I really wish that I had seen this forum before I leased this car last year. I love the car, I love the way it drives and looks. I hate all of the dealers and the way they treat the people who put food on their tables though.
I brought my car in for the 2nd time with an oil leak. They supposedly fixed that right on the second visit. After I left the dealer and pulled onto a VERY busy Las Vegas Street, my car had NO power and would not move…. I brought the car back in and the mechanic told me (as he laughed), after driving in for .5 seconds that he had forgotten to connect some hoses. That made me feel real confident.
In the same visit, they told me that I would have to pay for a $500.00 “20,000 mile maintenence check-up” or I would void my warrenty and have problems when I turned it back in.
I am a young female and I am hoping that some men on here can help me out with this. I hope that you do not mind, but I am going to post questions when the dealers tell me things with the hopes that someone on here will be willing and able to help me.
The Ford dealer offered 12K for my 03 Jetta 1.8T GLS Wagon with 24K on it.
It blue books for 13 so I took the offer. The best part is that the dealer sells both Fords and VW’’s so I have no remorse about the outcome of the trade and what happens to the car or who ever buys it. Who ever buys a MK IV without knowing their reputation (including myself!) deserves what they get!
The list of “”"”what was wrong”"”" is too long but I give you the worst of it or you can search here under “”"”The VW Experience”"”", or my screen name.
Clutch failed at 18K and they told be that it was because I didn”t know how to drive a manual trans until I told them that I had been driving a manual trasmission since the age of 10 and had never had one fail.
They replaced it (“”"”good will gesture”"”")but not untill I began to seek lemon law status on the car.
There were also many non serious but extreamily annoying problems which resulted in at least bimonthy loss of use and
frequent trips to the dealership for reparis.
This was a 1.8T and the thing could never get out of its way. Something wrong with the turbo that they were never able to diagnose.
Bottom line is that the Jetta was and is a lemon and I”m glad to see it go.
Because of the experience I had with VW of A and that dealership, I”d never consider owning a VW again.
While all cars are bound to have problems at some point, how you handle it can ensure future sales.
As such, no more VW’’s for me!
Thanks for the support of this site and good luck to you all with your VW problems. I feel as though a burden has been lifted!
It’s been real.
I set up this site a year and a half ago out of frustration over my POS Jetta. I finally have unburdened myself of it and am ready to move on.
The memory of that car still burns but I have no real reason to complain about a car I no longer own. So, I’m handing over the VWSUCKS website to another capable person. I’ll let that person make that announcement.
Thanks, everyone, for making this site fun and productive. There’s been a lot of good discussion and I believe a lot of good advice. It was worth it.

My 2003 Passat 1.8t is stuck at a dealership 500 miles away from home because the “”"”Oil Pressure, Stop Motor!”"”" message came on and the car is now inoperable.
I pulled over right away and added some oil. The light then went off so I continued to drive. Later, I experienced a loss of power as well as heard some clanking from the engine. At this point the car was towed to a dealer who is now saying it probably won”t be covered by the warranty to fix it because I cant furnish service records beyond the 5k and 10k services.
Any ideas on how much this could cost to fix or any tips on how I can procede? I can”t afford a repair that could cost “”"”$6000″”"” The car’’s only a year old and has got 32,000 miles on it. I”m a broke student and am absolutely freaking out.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. And please no sarcastic posts about my situation. I feel like crap as it is.
Thanks,

I purchaced my VW TDI before the fuel costs went through the roof. I have had a lot of problems with my vehicle #1 Transmisson had to be replaced cost $4000.00 USD then my heater fan stopped working $168.00 later I had heat fo 8 days same thing ? Why did I buy this piece of junk ? I would have to drive this for 20 years to get my money back in fuel costs! Oh well live and learn…….
I have an ‘04 TDI that lost most of it’s power on 3/11/05. VW has been very good about taking care of me, but it’s now 3/21/05, and I am getting frustrated. They can’t figure out what’s wrong with the car. They just ordered a new turbo unit for the car, but that is on National back order (7-10 bus. days to arrive…maybe). The bad part of this situation is that I am in transition right now. I am moving to another state, and I have been delayed going on two weeks now. No job, no place to call home, and a broken brand new car…..and running out of money. I want out of my lease now!!! Any help?
Thanks.
VW service is fraudulant dont trust them. I was charged for services that were NOT performed. So ask yourself….Are you sure you are getting what you paid for?
