Monsoon strikes again

I bought an 02′ Jetta in December to replace a 95′ Accord that had a bad impact with a deer at 75mph. Since I bought the car, it’s done alright… so far. I’ve talked to so many people that just have random crap go wrong with thier VW’s. SO, about 2 months after I bought it, the stereo went out. The fuse was fine, we unplugged and replugged the harness, battery cable, every trick you can think of… nothing. After working for years on computers and trancievers, it is my conclusion that it’s the internal power supply. VW’s have alot of other crap that runs through harness and power supply to the stereo and it’s simply to much. I just had a new Sony aftermarket stereo installed today. Right out of the installation and the factory amp is bad too. I’m getting electrical feedback through my highs. What a bunch of garbage. Is there a way around having to replace the amp than anyone knows of??? Any help would be appreciated. Think I’ll stick to Hondas from here on out…

looney 2 – Ironic. I bought this domain name when I had a 2000 Jetta. Actually that car was perfect. I sold it ’cause I am one of those car lover / monetary fools that enjoys driving something different every couple of years. For a while I drove a ‘92 Accord 5-speed which was actually not bad at all until everyone started aiming for it like it was video game. I saw a great deal on a loaded ‘02 jetta 1.8 with Tiptronic. Car is beautiful and in beautiful condition but man I cannot get used to the Tiptronic. I thought about buying a Scion like another writer mentioned but I couldn’t pull the trigger… My girlfriend has a Cooper S – I have never experienced greater driving joy than driving a Mini! Well I had motorcycle which was toooo much fun to live long, and an MG that was fun when it ran, and an Alfa that was even more fun than the MG but was more fun for the mechanic on payday… Bottom line I can’t help you with your monsoon But I would like something fun to drive, reliable, and affordable! perhaps I did not need that glass of wine.
