Farewell to VW!!!!!!!!!

The day has come! I AM FREEEE!!!! Took the B4 to the Scion dealership tonight and left her there. Drove home with my new TC!!!!!
Hate to say this, but even though the years with the B4 have been rough, I think I’ll miss her anyway. I always liked the look of the B4 GLX VR6, If only the reliability matched it’s looks. But with my long commute to work, I just can’t take anymore chances with it.
I took quite a big hit with the very low trade-in value for the B4, but I have a very bad feeling that the car is on the edge of needing something big done to it to keep her running, and with the price of servicing and parts from VW having shot up like crazy, I just can’t afford to keep her rolling.
the next 150K miles with this Toyota, I mean Scion, would be a breeze for sure!
So, like Rick and Shomare recently, I’m bidding everyone a big farewell and farewell to the land of Fartfernugen forever!
I can’t wait to drive to work tomorrow!
Keep the site going Paul, VW owners need ALL the help they can get, and it’s not coming from Wolfsburg or Auburn Hills anytime soon!

Farewell to VW!!!!!!!!! – Congratulations, Chombi. The TC is a nice car (I like all the style of all the Scions, actually, even the xB).

And rememebr, just because you’ve freed yourselves doesn’t mean you have to be a stranger. You’re always welcome to continue to help others “”see the light”". ;)

Update on the Scion TC! FUNNNN or what!! – I’m on my third week with the Scion, and let me tell you guys, It’s a GREAT car! Everything in it from day one has worked flawlessly. The engine has good power and torque to slingshot the car when passing other cars. I’m also enjoying the jumbo glass moonroof everyday I drive the car. It’s a much newer car than my former B4 Passat, but I’m glad to see the minimum of doodads and sensors in the engine compartment. There’s mostly just this big, silvery aluminum ingot of an engine block and head. I found out the valve cover is even cast magnesium. Very nice stuff that Toyota throws in for what I feel is no cost! The VVTi system kicks in a good amount of power in the upper ranges making passing on two lane roads a cinch. The body structure on the TC is very stiff like a vault because Toyota added extra structure to make sure that the glass roof is safe in a rollover. So all the doors closes with a heavy “”thunk”". I also love the beautiful 17 inch wheels and tires that the car has. They look like wheels you only see in $30,000 and higher sport coupes. The car does not handle as sharp as my brother’s much modified A4 turbo, but certainly, much better than a lot of VWs I tried recently. (Passat B5s, Mk 4 Jettas and Golfs) Don’t really know how it compares to GTIs cause I never drove those.
I’m really gonna have fun owning this TC I’m even toying with the idea of eventually buying a TRD supercharger for it eventually!
For an easy $11,000 less than the new Jetta 2.5 MkV, this is definitely one of the best bargains in the auto market in so many years!
By the way, my B4 already had a major breakdown (stranded on the highway with a fried main computer) after two weeks of ownership, so I guess I’m really doing better with this Scion. This baby isn’t gonna take that flatbed truck ride to the dealership any time soon!

go back to your little VW forum board and stop wasting space on this useful site when you don’t ever have anything insightful to say except to insult people.

ty – Thank you jasenm. Bout time someone showed this “moron” something. Haha, to be honest, I was to lazy to go search for anything. Like I said a long time ago. ALL cars break down. ANYTHING man made is UNRELIABLE. I mean, the world trade centers couldn’t take a boeing 747 into it. Who knew it would fall? Oh crap, its man made. That might be why.

funny…… – so the camry has ONE recall for coils…….and how many recalls did/does VW have? hmm i wonder.

and go look at my spelling of manufacture hoss, i spelled it correctly, how about you AND moron go take that reading for comprehension class now. yes i slipped up on site and sight, so sue me only human. caught myself towards the end however.

and your degree? man that must have been a useful one like a liberal arts degree or something along those lines, i mean come on YOU ARE A CAR SALESMAN!!!!!! that’s just funny and sad all at the same time.

and i would be glad to change my name if the powers that be allow it….but it wouldn’t be your oh so clever suggestion as i don’t pump gas, or sell cars for that matter. i work for one of the nation’s oldest and respected companies doing something that requires a better degree than one that would allow or possess me to sell cars.

and again, no never fired from any dealer ever. hell my fav. Benz dealer out west still wants to know when i am coming back.

yes moron all cars break, yes i know this. my window motor in my BMW just went out the other day, but hell the thing is an 87′ so i guess it was about time. go show me an early MK4 that hasn’t already had the motor assembly replaced at least once, you won’t find it.

fact is these cars break more often than the majority of other cars in the same price range or less. the dealers will not back anything nor are they pro-active when it comes to customer service. VW is failing as a car maker in the US market. look at their figures they tell the truth. and again i will site consumer reports for reliability of the MK4 line, doesn’t have really anything good to say about them…..oh look the Camry is getting rave reviews still, even though it had all of one recall for coil packs.

  11. you_moron Said,

    June 2, 2005 @ 7:16 am

found it – “go show me an early MK4 that hasn’t already had the motor assembly replaced at least once, you won’t find it.” I already found it. like stated in another post, my friends Mk4 works perfectly fine. Now, im gonna go make a forum about how BMW’s suck cause your window motor went out.

Farewell to VW!!!!!!!!! – Moron, Jasenm,
I’m still throughly enjoying my “”Jap POS”" (quote) as you called it. (Your racist terms also show where you guys are coming from. Do you two sport shaved heads or something?).
So far it’s gone over 2,720 miles father than my old Passat without anything breaking down or anything on it falling off. I just enjoy the fact that as each mile goes by, the more you two sound ridiculous to me with your crazy claims about all cars not Volkswagen.
I think you guys are so mean spirited everytime you post on this site cause you always have to vent your frustrations on us instead of your “”perfect”" VWs.
Don’t worry, once I have over 200,000 miles on this baby, I’ll give you two first dibs to buy it. It most likely will still be more reliable than the latest VW then, which I wouldn’t doubt you’d be driving.

  13. you_moron Said,

lol – My “”racist”" remarks aren’t racist at all. Your ignorant mind is telling you they are. Is calling a British man a “”brit”" racist? Japanse a jap? An Austrailian an “”aussie”"? Yea, pull the racist card. That must be why “”jap”" cars suck so bad, I’m racist. Way to go butthole, you solved nothing. Btw, I’m not “”venting”" as you say. I’m debating, deliberating, whatever you want to call it. Lets not make this a personal matter. We know you need to up your selfhistem so you come to a lame forum and try to verbal abuse somebody you believe is ignorant cause he used an “”ABBREVIATION”". and i don’t care if i spelled it wrong. I DONT know how to spell that word and to lazy to look it up. Cheers

Farewell to VW!!!!!!!!! – Put it this way, anyone who thinks a word. In this case, an abbreviation, is racist, then you need to go back to school. It depends on context. Do you know what context is? If Im talking with someone and I say, I hate japs. yea its racist. If I go there was a group of jap guys break dancing, it was cool. Its not racist. Way to go again. And about the “”frisco”" who cares about San Fransico anyway, it sucks. I’m from a place called “”Quakertown”", and NO i dont give a damn if some says you “”quaker”".

Farewell to VW!!!!!!!!! – Hey, Mr Moron,

Go to our Japan town, here in San Franciso and try to find a bunch of young, athletic Japanese American males on the street and tell them that they are “”Japs”". You’ll be picking up your teeth from the sidewalk a few minutes after that.
And please don’t say “”Frisco”" when you get here. The natives don’t like to hear that either.
Your head must have been stuck into some hole for a long time for you not to know that “”Jap”" is an offensive term to Japanese.
I guess you just shoved your big foot in your mouth again!
I wouldn’t be surprised if you think that the word “”Spic”" is not racist either, judging from the logic… no, crazyness you just posted! You can try it out in the LA barrios too and loose the rest of your teeth!
Whose Ignorant here? I think we all know now!

yeah its funny audi – i dont care where you work, like you’d prove it. maybe i play for the cubs. please! and by the way, champ, you said “”ANY JAPANESE MANUFACTURE”" so you ended the sentence in a singular “”manufacture”" instead of a plural. you WERE speaking of more than one, right? so yeah i’d say my degree paid off. and i am the internet sales manager, by the way, and i am a 2004 vw top performer, and midwest touareg product presentation champion. my degree was in english/journalism, boss, so i’d say my “”reading for comprehension”" class paid off. GFYH.

As an African American – I am deeply offended by racism of any sort……..

In this reference, I do not believe there was any malicious intent. ‘JAP’ seemed to be used as a simple abbreviation in the instance above. I thought Scions were Korean vehicles anyway, are they not Daewoos? I heard from a pal of mine that Toyota had bought Daewoo……..
