04 GLI 1.8T Alternator removal???

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the alternator pulley on the GLI. I bought a Neuspeed power pulley kit and the instructions inform you to remove with a 24mm socket… When i went to go remove the pulley, I popped the little plastic cover off only to find some strange type of “nut.” I have no idea what this thing is or how to remove it! But i would like to install my third pulley. Any ideas?

    04 GLI 1.8T Alternator removal??? – I have a powerpoint image saved that i can send to you but as far as describing it, words wont really give it much justice. But, I’ll give it a shot… If you were looking into the pulley, the outer most part is slotted to look like it would recive some sort of “wheel lock key” except with about 30 points instead of 6. If that doesnt help, give me an email address to send this picture to.

    04 GLI 1.8T Alternator removal??? – You need an alternator removal tool. ECS Tuning sells one for $25 (they return $15 if you send it back to them, so essentially a $10 loaner).
