2.0T Wins 2005 Engine of the Year (1.8-2.0 liter class) - first off.....

jase, defend the cars, try that for once. go get me some facts from consumer reports or something about how great the older MK4 generation is, how about you do that chief? cause these attacks on me are both pointless and old.

and BMW, BMW is the only car maker i would suggest buying the first run of. when they brought out the E46 their problems were few and far between...yes they had a couple of bumps, faulty thermostats (plastic housing breaking), and door trim coming loose......but nothing that would leave their customers walking.......(hmmm lets see, faulty coil packs, bad MAF's, batterys failing way before their time, etc..) and nothing they didn't immediately step up and fix, unlike the lovely namesake of this site.

this is the second time that i can recall off the top of my head that VW issued a recall for something that could ""quite possibly catch the car on fire""....first time was with the new beetles. now the new jettas, lovely.

but Paul, you are correct as well......at benz we would say ""first year for new model, second year we redesign the problems, third year is for refinement, and fourth year is for the end of minor changes..."" and case in point the last year production run for anything Benz did was almost always the best one to buy.

2.0T Wins 2005 Engine of the Year (1.8-2.0 liter class) - Guess its no better than the diareha that comes from your mouth.

Anyway, I would not wait to buy first model of a BMW M3. Very respectable company, and awesome car.

2.0T Wins 2005 Engine of the Year (1.8-2.0 liter class) - About BMW: I never liked the way they looked nor the image they projected. So no, I wouldn't but a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd of a new M3.

I would, however, consider the 3rd generation of a Volvo S40 or S60. And I look forward to a retro-style Saab 900 and wait for the 3rd generation of that particular model if it turns out as well as I have heard.

Pure and simple: I will never buy a 1st generation of a new platform for any make. Period.

f - If all you gotta reply is how incorrect my spelling was then dont replay at all please. Honestly, I couldn't careless how my spelling or gramar is, as long as you read it and understood. Which you did.

Now about that BMW. *winks* Would you buy the 1st of a new M3?

wow - So you must buy cars like every year? You must have recently bought the '03 Model eh?

I wouldn't wait to buy the new Ferrari F430(I believe thats what it is.) I mean, you are right, waiting to buy a product until all the bugs are out. But then you want the next model, and the next, and the next. Eventually, you never buy anything. Cause your constantly waiting for the new and upcoming models.
