vw sellling?

This just came to my attention, I work at BMW now, but still….any thoughts? p.s. paul I tried to provide the link but it was sent to me in Adobe Acrobat….can I attach it somehow? Maybe soon there will be one German Automaker….DaimlerBavarianVolkswagenPorscheChrylser AG!!!!

FRANKFURT, SEPT 30(REUTERS)- German carmaker DaimlerChrysler wants to buy a stake of around 20 percent in Volkswagen, German magazine Focus reports Friday, citing supervisory board sources. A board source at Saimler told Reuters that ther were no plans to buy the stake, and Called the report “”pure speculation”". VW declined to comment on the report.
According to the report, outgoing chief Juergen Schrempp was in favor of the idea but left the final decision to successor Dieter Zetsche, who wants to complete the deal by March of 2006. Talks are already at an advanced stage.
The Focus report comes on the heels of Sundays news that German luxury brand Porsche aims to buy a 20 percent stake in VW to prevent a hostile takeover of Porsche by VW threatening the carmakers business ties.
Focus also reported perhaps VW would buy a small share in DaimlerChrysler, forming a cross-holding, though these reports were denied.
“”Volkswagen raised the subject many times in the past but it never led to a result”" said a Benz spokesperson. “”There are areas where research and development where it makes sense for us to partner up and split costs”", he continued, citing hybrid collaborations between Porsche and VW and Toyota, and diesel talks between VW and Mercedes, and other talks of sharing between BMW, Mercedes and General Motors.

New GTI

Saw my first ‘06 GTI this weekend!

I think the new Jetta is ugly. I thought the new Passat was OK…up until I saw the rice burner white-out taillights on it. But, I really liked the look of the GTI.

I was in Ocean City, MD this past weekend and by chance VW Waterfest was there the same weekend. Tons of VWVortexers with hopped up “”whips”". The nicest thing about that was I saw some really, really nice old school rabits & GTI’s. I definatelty got a few looks from fellow ‘dubbers while driving my dirty GTI around…surfboards and all (lol). The only downside was that I had to make extra effort to obey speed limits because the troopers were on high alert.

Anyway, they had two ‘06 GTI’s in town for the show and I happened to see one driving around…I was pleasantly suprised (yea, it was right hand drive). If only we would get the 4-door GTI stateside arrgh. I thought it looked very, very nice. I’m not sure if that was the OEM car, or if it had been slightly modded to attract more attention at the show, I’m guessing the top trim GTI will be pushing 26K…so I won’t be shopping for one.

If anyone from VW is listening…
I am doubtful I’ll be buying another VW for a long time. The fact that VW refuses to admit that their products are less than perfect, and the unresponsive nature of VWoA “”Customer Care”" will difficult to forgive. Every person who commments on my car gets basically the same responce “”It’s a blast to drive, but VW Sucks.”"
With the prices of VW rising to the Audi ranks, I think the company must provide more than just “”dual climate control”". At that kind of money I would expect at least two years free service (which I think Audi does).

Well, that’s my $.0200

How many unique complaints?

I was scared at first but it looks to me like the same 12 people posting dozens / hundreds of times each.

Im not saying there are not warranted complaints here but VW does not suck any more than other Manufs.

I’ve had 4 VWs - 3 Jettas and a Passat - no major problems.
I leased Jettas 3 x in a row because for the price the car kicks the crap out of anything else on the road - quiet, tight, drives great.
To be honest I hated everything else I could afford. The Jetta was a no-brainer.
Geting ready to jump up to the Toureag or however you spell it.
If I come home in another black Jetta I will need a divorce lawyer.

Im sure this post will keep the VWSUCKS faithful busy for a few days.
Good luck to everyone.

Glove Box Door

How many times has your Golf or Jetta, had there Glove box door break? Well mine has broken twice. I had the first one replaced at a Grand Total of $200.74 The second time I said forget it and as of today I haven’t gotten it fixed. When I posted on this site and others about this problem. Everyone that had this problem all said the door broke on the right side. But when I called or e-mailed v/w of america they said they hadn’t gotten many problems with this (BULLSH!T) And another problem I had with a part that shouldn’t have been a problem was the lower spoiler which I had replaced once at a cost of $153.24 It has happen again but like the glove box I haven’t replaced it I just make sure not to go to close to the crub. And if I do I just pop it back on.

Porsche buys 20% of v/w

I always thought that German cars were the best? Porsche is buying 20% of v/w because both companies are scared that someone will buy one of them if not both. Who in the hell would want v/w this company sucks!!! They build there cars so that they don’t make there money from the car, but from the parts it takes to rebuild it. Thank about it My CASH COW tdi has a timing belt that if you talk with v/w should be changed at 40,000 miles if it is an auto, or 60,000 miles if you have a manual. Well I have a 5 spd manual and my dealer which is in Orange Park Fl. told me I had to change my timing belt at 40,000 miles. And my owners manual that v/w put out said it was 40,000 miles also. And like a good MONKEY I did and that total bill was $913.36 This was the first time I was SCREWED by v/w and my local dealers.

Paul, Reply for past post about EPC light.

She said it had to do with the date the car was made. The part was $13.73 and the labor was $76.50. I also had then look at something else. Have you ever heard of the front speakers cutting in and out. They ran a test on the radio (no faults/codes) and took both door panels off and poped the radio out but found nothing. Now the speakers have been working fine, so far. They only billed me $42.50 for that. They said if they cut out next time pull over and try to figure out what side it is. It is very hard to tell, But before they looked at it the speakers sounded like they would cut out when I hit bumps or just driveing normal. Not all the time. She said it could be the radio or very very internal wire problems if it happens again. Maybe what they did was all it needed. I cross my fingers. Thanks Paul

God I hate V/W!!!

V/W Sucks and I have had all I’m going to take. The gloves are now off its time to SUE and take this FOCKING company down. When I see the new V/W on TV I want to throw up. This company doesn’t give a damn about anything but money. (DRIVERS WANTED) should be (DRIVERS FOCKED)
