01 Jetta EPC light on ?
My EPC light came on today. I just took the car to emmissions(it passed the test) in the morning and it came on later in the day. The car runs fine, then it went off for a while but later came back on.

Well here we go again my (CASH COW)HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP NOW FOR A WEEK AND A HALF. I called the repair shop to find out what was the delay this time. And the owner told me one of the Glow Plugs wasn’t coming out, great once again I’m being (SCREWED) BY vw. the owner of the shop has told me this is the first time this has happen in the 30 years he has been working on any (tdi). Great another first for this (CASH COW) he did tell me they may have to remove the head and drill the glow plug out. God I HATE (vw)
Hola.
I’m new here, but I couldn’t think of a better place to go to get some feedback on the weird problems my wonderful (not) 2001 Jetta VR6 is displaying. The condensed version … In April I replaced the lower O2 sensor. No biggie (yeah, right – it’s so easy to get to) but after the replacement my odometer reverted to 43,000 miles. I think it actually had about 52,000 at that point. In early August I hit a monstrous rock going 75 on the highway and the mileage reverted to 43,000 again. Then, in late August I had my battery replaced and VOILA! it went back to 42,000. No one that I’ve talked to has ever heard of this happening and of course VW contends that I must be tampering with my odometer. I must admit, this is all to my benefit when I finally sell this POS car, but I’m getting really pissed off about this inferior German wonder machine. Anyone know anything about this?

NOT ALOT OF ACTION HERE LATELY. MAYBE DUE TO INCREASE OF VW QUALITY? THOUGH I AM OFF TO BMW IN A FEW DAYS, HOPEFULLY VW CAN IMPROVE ENOUGH TO KILL THESE SITES. BEEN FUN THOUGH.
I have no patience at this point to explain how pissed off I am with our POS VW Convertible, I can rant on and on and give everyone the 2 year F’n adventure our local VW put us through.
The blood is rushing through my brain forcing smoke out of my ears with these fuckers and to think that we spend 27 thousand dollars on this piece of F’n turd makes my stomach ill as well. I sit here at work out of options, frustrated to the point that the only thing left to do is sell the POS and never look back. I can’t go through this any more, if I’m forced to deal with our local service department one more time I’m going to hurt someone. For the sake of the people in their service department, I hope nothing breaks between now and the time I sell this fuckin heap of horseshit.
FYI: This car has been in the shop roughly 20 times since we purchased it in 2003
If I didn’t have fear of being arrested, this pissed off consumer would return the favor and drop big steaming load on the hood of one of their beautiful new cars in the showroom.
Fuck VW

What would be considered normal for oil loss between oil changes? I have gone for oil changes every 5,000 miles since purchasing my car. Last month (before I was due for an oil change) the low oil pressure light went off. I checked the oil level and ended up putting in 2 qts. When I took the car in (2002 jetta gls 5 speed manual transmission) I was told that that was normal oil consumption (about a 1/2 qt “”burns off”" every 1,000 miles). I find that hard to believe seeing as how I have never had that problem before (I have 50,000 miles on my car)…can somebody clarify this for me. One other thing…I had the VW service center check for any leaks at the next service, and they stated that they didn’t find any.
