2006 jetta tdi
have had the car for three months clutch already replaced twice, once under warrenty. I am an experienced driver and have never had this happen to me in the past 15 yrs on any other vehicle. while driving went to down shift and realized that the clutch was stuck to the floor. has anyone had problems like this or anything else that would cause this.

2006 jetta tdi – Yea, I had some problems with the clutch being stuck to the floor of my ‘02 GTI VR6.
It seemed to only happen when it was cold…I’d have to pry the pedal off the floor with my toe. The first time it happened I thought the clutch was gone and pulled over. The pedal pulled up before I got out to call a towing company.
I asked two different dealers to look at it, but neither had any explanation or even admitted that they saw a problem. The second time it happened, it nearly caused an accident.
Anyway, it seems like the hydrolic clutch wasn’t releasing in the cold, which was exaggerated by a weak return spring. Both dealers said the “”lubed”" the spring or something (no charge) which didn’t really solve the problem…but two years later it has stopped sticking…now that we’re in our first real cold weather of the season in DC, I’m just waiting for a coil pack to fail (seemed to happen on the first cold snap of the season the last two times).
good luck.
