VW sucks?

Not hardly. At least no more than any other automaker. Go on google. Type in ANY automaker followed by the word “”sucks.”" EVERY automaker comes up with scores of sites dedicated to that particular automaker “”sucking.”" Yes, even the beloved Honda and Toyota have sites dedicated to them sucking. Get over it. Cars are complicated things. Some are going to run flawlessly and some aren’t. My old Golf runs like a charm. My brother’s Toyota Corolla was a P.O.S. You never know.
The point? you people all need to move out of mom’s basement and get lives.

VW sucks? – Whoa, V-dubber. This isn’t a random website.

We’re the #1 search result for “”vw sucks”" and has been since before I inherited it, to rick’s credit. Of course, “”volkswagen sucks”" gets you mycarsucks.com, much to my chagrin.

    Just saying.

    :)

Out of the basement but still no life… – Well I made it out of the out of the basement, but still no life.
I am also not Autoweek, which is why this site was created (thanks Rick & grumble)
So when I say my VW transmission dies intermittently I have no voice.
Complaints to my dealer results in my VW service rep looking me squaare in the eye and saying, “”we found nothing unusual”".
Luckily we have this website to inform Honda and Toyota drivers that shifting from Park to Drive is supposed to take 10-15 seconds. Driving above 45 mph and then taking your foot off of the accelerator is supposed to result in absolutely no reaction from the gas peddal for at least 5 seconds. ( not sure how many feet 5 seconds is at 60 mph, but I do know it’s a long time when crossing a inersetcion, and I understand why Drivers are Wanted)
Out of the basement, into the public, and willing to bet that all manufacturers have problems – but some have more than others… and VW has too many problems for its size and age.

My mom doesn’t have a basement… – Dude, RTFA if you know how. VW clearly sucks, has sucked for awhile, and has denied and hidden its suckiness until people like me free themselves from their pos and vow never ever to buy one again.

Read the articles in the site before you go insulting people for having an opinion contrary to yours.

VW sucks? – first of all, i am not “dude.” grow up. second of all, i didn’t say VW doesn’t suck. i said every automaker, hell, every company, sucks at times. Toyota has hidden and fought its engine sludge problems for decades. Honda tranmissions and electronics have been suspect forever, a fact they have tried to hide from customers. Chrysler transmissions are legendary for their crappiness. get a life is all’s i’m saying.

VW sucks? – By getting a life do you mean surf around, find a random website and write some inflamatory nonsense?

Indeed, there are a lot of auto-bashing web sites (and quite a few VW-bashing sites). If you had taken some time to review this site, you would have noticed it isn’t all whining. People post legitimate gripes and usually get some helpful advice with their issues.

VW sucks? – im goin to agree with rainking. ALL car companies have there own little problems. BUT if u look at the all of them and VW honestly how many of ALLLLL the cars they make have problems. Not every VW has problems. U guys just got unlucky just like all the toyota drivers and all the honda drivers..etc etc etc. Just quit whining and dont drive a VW if ur that pissed off. Its not gonna bother me in the slightest. I love all my VWs and i dont plan on driving anything but VW’s for a while

VW sucks? – i know of smokers that survived into their nineties and are convinced that smoking isn’t bad for you. it’s the dangerous combination of luck and denial- people that survive walking through a minefield and are too oblivious to recognize how at risk they were.

to those of you that think VWs are so great- go on, buy all of them you can. god knows there are plenty on the lots to choose from. you’re probably the folks that are keeping VW from going completely belly-up .

my ‘04 tundra is running perfectly, by the way. at this point mileage-wise my ‘99 golf had been to the dealer a half dozen times.
