My Fast
Yeah, VW still sucks but the “”My Fast”" commercials are really good.
Another crop of folks will be lured in to VW ownership.
Poor bastards.

‘02 VW Golf TDI at sub-zero temperatures engine will start and will run for up to 30 seconds and quit. This process can be repeated up to a dozen times and engine will do same thing. The only way to start engine is not to reheat glow plugs, simply continue to restart without delay. Work that has been done: replaced glow plugs, replaced glow plug wiring harness, fuel conditioner added. I was able to spend 1200 dollars at the dealer without any resolution. At that point the service manager informed me that they had not looked for the problem I had, they were under the impression tha it was jelled fuel. He then said that I should bring the car back and they would continue to look for the problem (at 95 dollars an hour).Has anybody experienced this starting problem and resolved it? If so what is it.

i have a 2001 jetta that has been giving me a ton of problems. it recently started to stall and when idle the rpm’s go up and down in no discernible pattern. it also has been kind of sluggish when accelerating. i replaced spark plugs, spark plug wires, changed the oil and the fuel filter. i replaced the engine coolant sensor which was supposedly causing one of the check engine codes. i sealed a crack in the cover to the air filter. i cleared the check engine codes and they stayed off for 3 days (during which the car ran great) now the check engine light is on again. today while driving home the car just started slowing down for no reason no matter how hard i stepped on the accelerator. i pulled over and the epc light came on for a while and then turned off. i know that i will probably need to take it into a dealer, but i was just wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions as to what is going on with this car because i am about ready to push it off a cliff. (also, i am VERY poor, so if anybody has any suggestions of things i could try myself that would be fabulous. thanx.)
A few weeks ago the timing belt on my ‘99 Passat went resulting in engine failure. Could the timing belt breaking be related to the oild sludge issue? Of course, I’m taking VW at their word that it was the timing belt breaking that caused the engine failure.
Thanks.
I have a 97 Jetta VR6 and my temperature light started coming on this winter. If I shut my car off it would usually not come back on, but not always. I took my car in and they said that my water pump was leaking and this was causing the light to come on. After paying over $400 I was driving away and the light came back on. I am really irritated because they seem miffed as to why this didn’t fix it. I have an appt next week to take it back in but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of cheap quick fix ideas that I could try. Maybe the light has come on for other people and was easy to fix? I would appreciate any help.
