Airbag light

2002 jetta GLS 1.8T Auto 53K.
My aibag light just went on, brought to dearler nect day. girl behind me same car, same problem.
I didn’t care it’s under warranty, and that FAST on the showroom floor looks damn nice.
Well I guess I would have cared if the dealer was more than a walk away. They kept my car overnight, I didn’t care but I can see how many would.
Some argue that VW are more performance oriented as opposed to a “”utilitarian”" Honda/Toyo. Whatever, my point is that a temp sensor or an airbag sensor are sensors and should have little to do with performance. Past experience with Honda / Subaru never had these problems; these probs are more similar to MG & Alpha. Still I don’t care I guess I like my VW and like I said I can walk to the dealer, my attitude may change when the warranty is up.

    Yep, for 24 hours my Airbag light was fixed, now it’s back on and I won’t have that warm feeling of all is good this weekend. I’ll break out the walking shoes for next week… but I’ll get to see the FAST again…

    Airbag light – DSG is considered a revolution in transmission technology (and the 2.0T is yet another little four-banger marvel, though it remains to be seen if FSI will be considered revolutionary). I don’t blame you for looking at the FAST.

    I don’t plan on buying a new car anytime soon (next car in 2009, and it’ll probably be a Corrado SLC), but that DSG sorely tempts me, especially now that I’m back on the daily commute on surface streets.

    Airbag light – Isn’t the DSG transmission made by Aisin (Japanese) Did they design the system? Nice to see that VW is possibly starting to utilize some mix of Japanese tech into their cars if this is true.
