WHAT ACTIVES THE IMMOBILIZER???? – That’s why I will never believe those “”Certified VW technician”" certificates that hang in a lot of dealerships. I don’t know if you can blame them sometimes if VW still insists in making their cars uneccesarily complicated that even their own techs can’t seem to figure out which way is up with their cars.
Just proves to show that VW had squandered a lot of money into useless things like the fancy schmansey “”transparent”" factory in Germany, instead of reinvesting it into improved tech training programs and better designed and reliable components.

WHAT ACTIVES THE IMMOBILIZER???? – the immobilizer can be activated by an incorrect key or a key that was not programmed to the the vehicle.what issue are you having?.there is a pick up coil on the ignition lock cylinder that recognizes the correct key code in the key.I have seen several different issues with the immobilizer system.will be glad to help but need more information.

WHAT ACTIVES THE IMMOBILIZER???? – Has the dealer scanned the instrument cluster for codes?.If the reading coil on the ignition lock cylinder is causing an intermittent problem then it should be throwing a fault for the reading coil.If the vehicle starts and cuts right back off and all the keys code to the instrument cluster then I would suspect the instrument cluster causing the problem I have seen the clusters activate the immobilizer but will not throw a code.have there been any alarm or dead battery issues,or has the ecm been chipped?.

WHAT ACTIVES THE IMMOBILIZER???? – At this point if there have not been any codes in the system I would suggest replacing the instrument cluster. It is the cluster that recieves the key code from the ignition lock cylinder.I have seen alot of clusters do this when the vehicle is cold for some unknown reason.
