Either VW is getting smart, or the folks at are on crack.
The Jetta MKIV platform may be used for the upcoming Dodge Hornet? Well, if it is just the frame & suspension, maybe. If they decide to take any electrical components…they obviously haven’t been paying any attention. If that is the case, props to VW for sabotaging the competition.

Either VW is getting smart, or the folks at are on crack. – The electronics on the MkIV have been pretty solid the last couple of years, but as you said, it is more likely they are taking the chassis only, which I actually do find a bit odd, seeing as the MkIV is an admitted pig, especially compared to earlier and later chassis (the MkV being a substantially better platform).
Who knows, maybe they’re taking it all and just putting a new shell and interior with some rebadging.

Either VW is getting smart, or the folks at are on crack. – This is not the first time Dodge has used VW/Audi components on their cars. The old Dodge Horizon had a VW engine (Rabbit?).
