Saved...by mediocrity! - It isn't that the ads accurately portray VW owners, Chombi. Indeed, there has never been a more smug, self-satisfied group of drivers. The brilliance of this campaign is its completely absurd but beautifully executed total BS assertion that people who buy VWs have evolved beyond the need to have their egos stroked. They're smarter, confident, secure in who they are and clearly superior to the insecure, emotionally damaged losers who drive those other marques. The sheer brilliance of the campaign is its appeal to, you guessed it, the EGOS of their target buyer. I myself admit that I fall into the smug, self-satisfied category. For instance, when I see a guy driving a Hummer I honestly feel bad for the emotionally damaged underequipped loser ; ).

Saved...by mediocrity! - ""Lowest Ego Emissions""???? Apparently, the ad agency who whipped up this sutpid ad campaign never looked into the VWVortex site. Mention anything even slightly suggesting that VW has quality control problems, they'd be on you like sharks in a feeding frenzy followed by a quick lock down of the thread once the site members get their Deutchland/VW Uber Alles rage on the original poster out of their chests.
Anyway, as far as feedback from people on the ad, most people I've spoken to about it think it's kinda dumb to portray non-VW buyers as egotistical loons and expect them to switch over to the already dwindling VW family. Way to go VWoA, keep shooting what's left of your foot over and over again!
They need to switch to yet again another ad agency before it's too late!
