Another Shakeup at VAG

Well, it looks like Pieceofshitrider is out at VAG.
In order for VAG to survive in the increasingly competitive world market they needed to reorganize and get major concessions from the unions. Piech has allied himself with members of the labor unions that are on the board. They have barricaded themselves in the boardroom to protect themselves from the howling wolves of competition. Each time they get a concession from the unions they throw out another executive to appease the wolves. With Piech staying on the board, I wouldn’t want to be an executive at VAG. You know that if you make a necessary change, you will be thrown to the wolves as a sacrificial offering. Who’s next on Piech’s list?

    - I must add that with all the shakeups at VAG and VW’s history of horrendous quality, now would be an even stupider time to be buying a VW.

Predictions – My prediction is that after the next round of concessions from the unions, Bernhard will be Piech’s sacrifice. However, Hallmark, the German High Command’s lapdog in America, will go before this. He is not producing for his masters.

So Soon? – I figured it would have happened after the next round of concessions from the unions.
I have this insane vision of two security officers, dressed in leather trench coats and VW collar bars, walking into Bernhards office, placing a P-38 on the desk, and telling Bernhard that his family will be taken care of if he does the right thing.

The Bunker – I have another insane vision that Winterkorn is tasked with the job of taking Piech’s body out of the boardroom, pouring gasoline on it, and burning it so that it does not fall into the hands of the oncoming freemarketers.

VAG – I think that if you are holding VAG stock, it would be wise to sell it to Porsche at the raised prices.

Porsche Uber Alles – I have one more insane vision. Piech declares a new VAG company song.

Seriously – It looks like the labor members of the board and the stock holders of the state of Lower Saxony are pushing to retain the labor force in Germany. VAG will be retrenching to Germany. As jobs are reduced outside of Germany, Europeans will lose their “loyalty” to the VW brand name. The Japanese brands will make further inroads into Europe and VW sales will start to erode. With labor being such a force on the VW board, needed streamlining of VAG will be slow in coming. VAG is becoming less and less competitive in the world market.

The Fallout – Volkswagen cannot continue to be the low end “”peoples car”" while maintaining the highest paid, lowest productivity work force in the world. The two are ultimately mutually exclusive. Thus the less than successful attempt to upmarket into the “”boutique”" car range.
I think that people who say Audi will seperate are right. I think that if Porsche/Piech gains control of VAG it will become Porsche/Audi and VW will be spun off.

The Prince – I think that when Piech embraces the union members of the board, they should check for the blade in their back.

Brussels – Now would be the perfect time for Toyota to open up a plant in Brussels. They could hire the thousands of employees that VAG layed off.

Breaking up VAG – There has been talk recently of VW and Audi developing engines seperately. This did not make sense to me as the economy of scale of using common platforms is well known. But it makes more sense if Piech’s ultimate goal is to ultimately have Porsche take over VAG. Porsche is a “”boutique”" car manufacturer. They are producing the high margin cars. I suspect that Piech’s ultimate goal is to combine Porsche with Audi and the other high end labels under VAG. The Volkswagen group would be sold off. This is probably why Piech is allying himself with labor for the time being. It suits his purposes for the time being.
    Very Machiavellian.

Bernhard Gone – VW ( http://www.media.vw.com/) announced that Bernhard will be leaving by the end of January.
