immobilizer – i suspect either the drivers door latch not operating correctly or water has gotten into the rear hatch microswitch.one of the alarm zones either a door, hood, radio,or trunk is not unlocking when unlocking vehicle.this should have been found by your dealer.

The dealer did not find any of tthose things!! – The dealer just says that they have to go deeper to find the problem,
I do not want to give the car to the dealer until they tell me what is wrong with my car, and what will they fix, and the can not tell me what is wrong with the car, so my simple question remeins, WHAT ACTIVES THE IMMOBILIZER<
how is that VW makes car and they can not diagose them.

    thx for you help

immobilizer issues – When you say immobilizer system, remember that the immobilizer does not sound the alarm horn when you are trying to start car.The immobilizer system will allow the car to turn over and start and then cut off with the yellow immobilizer light flashing in the instrument cluster but no alarm horn. The problem you are describing is the alarm horn goes off when you unlock the doors and try to start the vehicle. This is a seperate issue from immobilizer system, and yes it can be very intermittent.I want you to do this, when you unlock the vehicle check to see if the red LED light on the drivers door goes off,if not your drivers door latch is bad and it will be intermittent so try it several times. If the light goes off and it still sounds the alarm when you try to start the vehicle then there is another switch that is in the armed position and the dealer should have checked the value blocks in either the comfort module (with power windows)or central locking system(manual windows)address system 46 or 35.This will tell them which switch is acting up.You can contact me at tatkins8@cox.net for any further help if needed and I will be happy to help.

the red light on the door is off!! – the red light is off when I open the door, and the alarm doen not activate when i open the door, and the problem I have is the immobilizer and NOT the alarm, I just let the immobilizer get activated at any time and wait for 3 to 5 minutes before I can try to start the car again, this problem makes me frustaded because I just want to know what actives the immobilizer.
    take care
